Attendance is tracked and reported as a scholarship requirement.
Parent / teacher communication
Report cards are issued quarterly providing feedback on progress. Both parent and teacher are encouraged to request special meetings (either in person or by phone) to discuss issues, assessments or revisions to goals as needs arise or change. We believe that open communication between parent and your child’s teacher will foster the best possible learning environment.
Homework may be assigned to some children with the skills and motivation to work independently at home.
Khaki or dark blue pants, shorts or skirts with a colored collared short or long sleeved shirt is the encouraged dress code. Please bring an extra change of clothes for children prone to accidents.
Cell phone policy
Bright Steps Forward discourages cell phones on campus. However, if parents deem it necessary for their child to have a cell phone while at the center, the following rules must be adhered to:
Cell phone use is limited to communication between the student and the parent(s) only. Cell phones are to be turned off and stored during the day. Cell phones must be stored in the student's locker or in the student's backpack. Student use of cell phones at after-school activities are for parent communication only.
If the student does not comply with these rules, the cell phone will be confiscated and must be picked up by the student's parent. The student will lose the privilege of having a cell phone at the center if there are repeated violations during the school year. By signing the Cell Phone Policy Acknowledgement and Agreement form, you agree to follow the above rules for cell phones and agree to release Bright Steps Forward, Inc. and staff from responsibility for any illegal or inappropriate behavior or for damage or loss of a cell phone. All parents and students must sign the Cell Phone Policy Acknowledgement and Agreement form and return this form to the Therapy Learning Center office before any cell phone may be brought to school.
Transportation to and from the Therapy Learning Center is the parent's responsibility.
Snack and Lunch
Students must bring their own snacks, drinks and lunch. Refrigeration is not available so include cooling packs when necessary with their lunch pack.
Bright Steps Students can receive Occupational, Speech, Physical or ABA Therapy services onsite during their school day or after school from our service provider, Therapies 4 Kids. Please let us know if you have interest in therapeutic services.
